Giaggiolo, also known as Iris Pallida, is a plant whose name originates from the Greek Iris, i.e. rainbow, since it can be different colors (generally purple or pink). It is the most cultivated variety of Iris in Italy, more precisely in Florentine Chianti and Valdarno Figlinese.

It is traditionally grown in the Valdarno areas, though it is not rare to find some in France and Morocco.

What is the main benefit of this flower? 

he root of the Giaggiolo, called rhizome, is a precious material, traditionally processed by Tuscan families for the distillation and extraction of fragrant essential oils, used in the perfume and bio-cosmetics industry.

Basically it is the basis of many perfumes, beauty creams, cosmetics, liquors, herbal preparations, wines and much more.
